Ben Roethlisberger Being Accused of Sexual Assault

In the world of blogging, a few days is like last month's news and I reserved on commenting on this topic until more unfolded.  For those of you who have been away from the internet and sports news, Ben Roethlisberger, Pittsburgh Steeler's quarterback, is being accused of sexual assault at a club in Milledgeville, Georgia. It was later reported by TMZ "Ben Roethlisberger had his arm around his accuser before the alleged assault ... and she had a big grin as she wrapped her arms around him."
As a $120 million dollar QB, Ben hasn't always been known of making the best decisions, bouncing off a window for not wearing a helmet, appearing on some show mid season, being accused of rape and now this.  Many Steelers fans are coming to the defense of the quarterback saying that we shouldn't be persecuting this guy until we know more and that this girl could just be looking for money or that we should respect an athlete's privacy.

In listening to ESPN radio, I agree with Mike & Mike on the Herd on many levels, one being that when you're a high paid quarterback, you have to be conscious of the places you choose to go to and the decisions you make.  Hanging out with a 20 year old girl, when you still have another sexual assault case pending, is not exactly wise.  Next up,  the minute athletes started being marketed in fashion ads, being a part of Hollywood and being saturated in a market that has nothing to do with sports, they've then crossed over into celebrity-dom, which exposes you to the gossip and limelight.

Lots going on in sports this month!
