Man oh man! To say that Gears is one of my favorite games of all time would be the understatement of the century. Prior to the Gears saga, a game called Half Life 2 stood on my pedestal of prized favorited games, you know the type that you can play over and over and still bask in the story for all it's glory.
Then Gears happend and... well let me give you a little insight into my love and obsession for the game play, art, and intense story of this series.
Gears of War 1 - played on every difficulty 2 times each, then played again all the way through to ensure I got every cog tag. Gears of War 2, due to starting it on different people's console, and not having save data on my own console, I re-started this game 4 times before finally finishing at home and playing it again on every difficulty and one more time through to get all the collectibles. Honestly, I think each time was just an excuse to marvel at the environment/character art, have chainsaw wars and experience the epic story again.
NO IDEA what took me so long but when I finally saw the teaser trailer for Gears of War 3 Ashes to Ashes, it was the same angst and emotion that overcame me, like when I heard Gary Jules Mad World playing in the trailer for the first Gears of War .
I've realized that my blog usually incorporates two of the things I love most which is sports and doses of fashion, and yet there's been something missing.. my love of video games. Someone asked me not to long ago why would I want to be rich? What happens after success? I replied.. I just want to be rich enough so that I have the freedom to enjoy life, play games, read comics and make art. You'll be seeing a lot more posts about my other favorite past time folks, so for now enjoy!
