Enjoying "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare" (The abridged version).

A review to soon follow. For now the disclaimer from the program.

"WARNING: This show is a high speed roller coaster type condensation of all of Shakespeare's plays, and is not recommended for people with heart ailments, bladder problems, inner ear disorders and/or people inclined to motion sickness. The RSC cannot be held responsible for expectant mothers. "

Update: intermission.
While the play is anything but theatre snobbery, the cheeky humor, simplistic set design and props and the crowd engagement brings me back to fun days in high school "drama class" improv. Perfect light hearted fun for an early Friday evening and less stuffy then the full length versions I've seen before. While I wish that more of the narrative and essences of Shakespeare's plays came through in the speedy performances, I guess it is assumed that anyone out of high school has seen/read most of the plays.

After while the filler theatrics and over the top comedy can come off a little predictable, but if you sit back and just enjoy the silly renditions by 3 men through a horde of plays, it's quite entertaining and sure beats another bad horror or chick flick at the movies. Though I sure would love a bucket of popcorn at the moment.
