A little birdy buzzed to me today that a couple of my pals back in Edmonton were heading out to Corso 32, a little green with envy and still winding down from a busy weekend, I decided to make it a date night. For one.
So I lit some candles, turned on some Led Zeppelin and broke out my favorite stainless steel saute pan to make an epic dinner. On the menu, spinach and chive linguine in a lemon garlic, mushroom sauce with a side of Bay Scallops sauteed with lemon, paprika and garlic. All garnished with diced scallions.
It's this odd thing where as much as I love having company over for drinks and noms, I actually prefer cooking for myself. I think it's because I still have problems gauging portions and I'm always nervous cooking to other people's tastes.
This weekend was nothing short of amazing packed with crossfit, good company, a kick ass grand opening at the Nogueira's gym (photos being edited and will be posted asap), and having great food. Watching Nate win on Chopped All Stars with a bit of Led Zeppelin was the perfect cherry on top.
Have a great Monday my fellow foodie lovers and readers!
