If breakfast is the most important meal of the day, then there's no reason why it shouldn't also be the yummiest one.
Eggs, waffles, and the miraculous bacon are great, but when your favorite fish monger messages you on Facebook letting you know that Yellowtail collars are in... you jump out of bed and prep for a seafood morning feast. (Hello Kitty PJs and all)
It's been a while since I've visited Catalina Offshore Products and man have I missed out. They've remodeled, redecorated the kitchen station, and vamped up how they display their seafood selection.
Whenever I visit, I always hunt down Tommy to say hi, then I pow wow around the cooking station, catching up with Chef Ken, getting new recipes and being the first in line to taste the fresh fish he cooks up.
One visit to Catalina and you'll know why you can never buy seafood at Costco or anywhere else again.
What we picked up: Live Ama Ebi WITH ROE!!!, fresh caught oysters, salmon fillet, bay scallops, Yellowtail collars and lots of love.
We just got done shucking the oysters, which tasted incredible. Thank you Chef Ken for the awesome shucking knife.
On my list to do, get his curry and papaya salsa recipe.
